Workmen are erecting enormous grids of scaffold in Copley Place at the moment. But, alas, it is not the variety of scaffold from which miscreants are hung by the neck until they are dead; which is a shame, since I have a long list of candidates for the gallows that I would have liked to submit to the relevant authorities were the scaffolding being built with that particular type of punishment in mind.
No. It seems that the scaffolding is taking the shape of several television camera gantry towers, and that, or so I am told, these video machines will be recording certain words and emotions that John Kerry wishes to address to assembled crowds at some point in the very near future.
But I could have been misinformed about that.
presumptuous little bugger, isn't he? (Kerry, not Stephenesque)
