Monday morning: a calendrical equivalent of the kind of tepid, murky bathwater that Archimedes would definitely think twice about dipping a toe into. Monday is a Janusian day since it both marks an end and heralds a beginning of compartmentalized time, surveying the forthcoming sequence of working hours while still gazing over its shoulder at the retreating pleasures of the weekend. It has usurped Sunday's throne as the first day of the new week, relegating the sabbath to a diarized limbo between periods of productive activity. Frankly, I have always thought it surprising that Monday is named in honor of the moon, since it seems improbable that such a mysterious and beautiful figure as Luna would care for such an unprepossessing day as this one.

oh, to have periods of productive activity! i wish

Task for this morning:
1.Empty recycle bin.
This requires the removal of waste,cast-off flotsam and jetsam if you will. A task both unpleasant but necessary. Its tendency to be neglected until it is full to overflowing, is a failure on my part, I know, but more important things manage to intrude until I forget, only to be reminded by its near bursting at the seams. The energy it takes to remember is more than I wish to retain, but this morning I am determined to get it out of the way, so I quickly slide my cursor to the left, double click on the icon marked recycle bin, click on file, drop down and click on empty recycle bin. Aah good, my unpleasant task for the morning is done. I am filled suddenly with smug satisfaction.
