It often seems as though old friends or relatives upon whom you have not clapped eyes for many years appear somewhat deformed and misshapen in the first moments of visual re-acquaintance; but obviously it is the actual in-the-flesh ocular adjustment to your distorted mental recollection of their corporeal form that creates this magic lantern-like effect.But then again, they could just be get old and ugly, I suppose.
